When School Ends, the Real Work Begins

Hemshech is what happens after the bell rings — small-group learning with mentor-rebbeim, supper, and the slow, patient relationship-building that turns an 8th-grader into a yeshiva bochur. It is the most expensive thing we do per child. It is also the most consequential.

The promise

Why Hemshech Exists

Many of our older students go home to apartments where no one says Modim, no one washes Mayim Achronim, and no one knows what a Mishna Berura is. The school day plants a seed; Hemshech is what waters it.

Without Hemshech, we lose roughly half our 8th-grade graduates to the secular world by 11th grade. With Hemshech, we lose almost none. The program is small (currently 340 boys) but it is the entire reason this is a generational mission.
