We serve a hot, mehadrin, balanced lunch to every child, every weekday — chicken, rice, vegetables, fruit. We don't ask anyone to pay extra for it. We never want a child to be hungry while their classmates eat.
It's hard to learn Gemara when your stomach is empty. It's hard to focus on shoresh-binyan-poel when you're calculating whether your mother could afford breakfast.
Every Chinuch Atzmai school serves the same hot, mehadrin meal at the same time every day, to every child, regardless of what the family can pay. The kitchens are an extension of the classroom.

$50 sponsors a full hot lunch for one classroom (about 24 children) on a single day. Many sponsors do this in honor of a Yahrzeit, a birthday, or a refuah sheleimah.
