Ways to Give · 2026

The most tax-efficient ways to support Chinuch Atzmai

For donors giving from a foundation, donor-advised fund, IRA, brokerage, or estate plan — six routes, every one of them established and verifiable. Simple instructions. Real account numbers. No friction.

DAF Grant

Donor-advised fund

If you have a fund at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, Jewish Communal Fund, or another sponsor.

Recommend a grant to Torah Schools for Israel — Chinuch Atzmai, Inc. through your DAF's online portal. Most sponsors process the grant within 2–5 business days. No fees pass to you, no minimum, and the deduction was already taken when you funded the DAF — so no further tax paperwork is required.

Legal name Torah Schools for Israel — Chinuch Atzmai, Inc.
EIN 13-1965385
Mailing address 1072 Madison Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701

Note: U.S. tax rules prohibit DAF grants from conferring more than incidental benefit. We'll acknowledge — but cannot send a tax receipt for — DAF grants.

Appreciated Stock

Gifts of securities

If you hold appreciated stock, ETFs, or mutual funds — gifting them avoids capital gains and gives you the full fair-market deduction.

A direct transfer of long-term appreciated securities is one of the most tax-efficient gifts available. You deduct the fair market value at the date of transfer (subject to AGI limits) and avoid the capital-gains tax you would have paid on a sale.

Brokerage instructions provided on request
DTC routing available via the development office
Required to process the security ticker, share count, your name and contact, and your broker's contact

Email partners@chinuchatzmai.org with the details and we'll send the DTC routing within one business day.

IRA · QCD

IRA qualified charitable distribution

If you are 70½ or older. The QCD is the most tax-efficient gift available to retirees.

Donors aged 70½ or older can transfer up to $108,000 per year (2026 limit, indexed annually) directly from a traditional IRA to a qualified public charity. The transfer counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution but is excluded from your taxable income — meaning the entire distribution funds Torah education without ever appearing on your 1040.

Contact your IRA custodian and request a direct transfer to:
Payee Torah Schools for Israel — Chinuch Atzmai, Inc.
EIN 13-1965385
Mail to 1072 Madison Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701
Wire / ACH

Bank wire or ACH

For gifts of $5,000 and above, wire is faster than mailing a check and avoids credit-card processing fees entirely.

Domestic wire and ACH transfers settle within one business day. International wires settle within 2–4 days. There is no minimum, but for gifts under $5,000 a credit-card or DAF gift is usually simpler.

Routing & account information issued on request to verified donors only — please email or call.

For your protection we don't publish wire routing information. Email partners@chinuchatzmai.org from a verifiable address and we'll respond within one business day.

Bequest · Legacy

A bequest in your will

A planned gift in your estate plan costs nothing today and creates a permanent zechus.

The simplest path: ask your attorney to add a single bequest line. You can specify a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a residual gift. We can also help structure beneficiary designations on retirement accounts, life insurance, and donor-advised funds.

Sample bequest language
"I give to Torah Schools for Israel — Chinuch Atzmai, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation, EIN 13-1965385, the sum of $______ [or ____% of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate], to be used for its general charitable purposes."
Employer Match

Employer matching gifts

Many companies match employee gifts to 501(c)(3) charities — often 1:1, sometimes 2:1.

Check your employer's HR portal or benefits site. If they offer a match program, the form usually takes 60 seconds and effectively doubles your impact at no cost to you. Public-school teachers, military service members, and federal employees may have their own match programs (e.g. the Combined Federal Campaign).

Information your match portal will ask for
Legal name: Torah Schools for Israel — Chinuch Atzmai, Inc.
EIN: 13-1965385
Address: 1072 Madison Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701

Verifying us before you give

Before any major gift, verify the recipient is in good standing. Three independent checks, each takes under a minute:

IRS. Visit apps.irs.gov/app/eos/ and enter EIN 13-1965385 or the legal name. The IRS will confirm 501(c)(3) status and current standing.

Form 990. Every U.S. public charity files an annual Form 990 describing its program activities, board, expenses, and senior-staff compensation. Available on the IRS site and on platforms like Candid (formerly GuideStar).

The charity's own disclosures. A reputable charity publishes its EIN openly on its donate page, in its FAQ, and on its tax receipts. We do — every page. No EIN, no gift.
